Mahalo to The Hawaii Energy Policy Forum for putting this event together. It was great because it didn't require taking a whole day to attend a conference. I got the information I was interested in and met experts in clean energy in Hawaii in a really short amount of time. I especially appreciated Senator Mike Gabbard's speech at the end. It helped me to get a good perspective on what the potential is for our state in terms of laws that need to be passed, and how I can help to encourage this important legislation. Very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think the HEPF is a good consortium of experts and interest groups working to promote sustainable, renewable, and clean energy for Hawaii. I was encouraged to learn that they analyze proposed legislation rather than lobby on behalf of particular bills or proposed their own legislation. I'm also glad they try to come to a consensus on particular proposed laws or policies but still work to convince the members of the forum to agree to support good ideas. They are not neutral or disinterested, but they try to consider all relevant perspectives and viewpoints to ensure the best policies are enacted.
